This month on The Flower Challenge #33 is to Focus on Background stamping..
This month on Happy Little Stampers is anything goes with dies
The Simon Says Challenge is Wedding/Anniversary
This month on Watercooler Wednesday WWC225 - All about Occasions
The Double D Challenge is Rose Garden
And Just us Girls #492 - Light, Medium and Dark colour challenge
So I decided that I would play with my MFT background stamp - Roses all over, and I had the perfect card base all ready ink blended in Distress oxides, now normally I would heat emboss first and then ink blend, but this time I did it the other way round.. (not sure that it really matters which way TBH)
So to make this card, I did an ombre ink blend, in Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry, I've stamped the Roses all over background stamp in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl embossing powder. (I do love this one!)
The Congrats Die is by MFT and I've cut that out of Fun Foam and Pink Chiffon Satin cardstock by Tonic.
The Sentiment is from the All About You by MFT, and to finish the card I've used some sequins called Cherry Blossom by Little things from Lucy's Cards. I've adhered these with glue dots as they don't have a flat surface like conventional sequins.
This is a fairly CAS card, but I think the Pearl embossing powder and the Tonic cardstock really make it pop.
Hope you like the card, and thanks for stopping by!
Hugs
Alli

love the background colours and the roses stamp, an elegant card which would work for loads of occasions.
ReplyDeleteThank you Meg, yes it would, I must admit, this is a favourite of mine...not sure I can part with it LOL hugs XoX
DeleteSuch a pretty card. I think if you are doing emboss resist technique you need to emboss first however if it gives the same result does it matter?
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki, Yes thats what I thought too... maybe it depends on the colour of the embossing powder ? anyways it worked out well, Hugs XoX

DeleteAli, your card is gorgeous! Since you were using a colored embossing powder, you're right, it doesn't matter which order you apply the embossing. It's only when it's clear embossing powder that the background would show through. I agree with you that the satin EP is luscious! Using fun foam to raise your sentiment up off the card's surface really adds pow to your card. Love it, love it, love it! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us this week at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges!!! -Donn
