Make My Monday #104 - With Whimsy Stamps

Hi all,

I'm back today with another post this time for the Make My Monday Challenge #104, This challenge has been chosen by the lovely Dawn, and it's to use shapes on your card, it can be Circles, ovals, squares, rectangles, etc...

I've gone with circles ...

I die cut a panel of pale blue/green card and I adhered the die cut circles to the panel, the mermaid tales have been coloured with Copics and fussy cut out so I could tuck them in under the circles, I wanted the circles to represent the bubbles created when the mermaids are diving under the water...if you get what I mean LOL...

The sentiment is from the same set too called Mermaid Dreams.  To finish the card I just added some droplets, sequins and rhinestones... and a wee drop of nuvo sparkle, well you have to have some glitter don't you...

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the rest of the cards made by our amazing design team, and I do hope we have inspired you to take part!

For A Guy at Make My Monday

Hi all,

Its Monday and that means it's time for a new challenge over on the Make My Monday Blog!  The lovely Meg is out host for this one and she has chosen "For a guy young or old"

This worked out quite well for me, as I needed a retirement card.  My postie is retiring.. I think he may be so tired with always walking up my steep driveway with my craft supplies....OK OK and my wine deliveries teehee!

So here is my card for him, let's hope that this card represents his free time from now on LOL

This is a stamp from LOTV, but they are now available in Digi's.  I've coloured it with Copics.
Used up some of my Old Olive Stampin Up! paper and DSP.  I've also used two punches and a sentiment by SU too.
The fence & grass are by Spellbinders. And a couple of stitched ovals to make a frame and to cut out the DSP.
This card has been popped up on fun foam and the image has been recessed for some added interest.
Here's a couple of more photos

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to come and join us for this new challenge over on the Make My Monday Blog!

Catch a Wave ??

Hi all,

Yesterday I played with the "Catch a Wave" stamp set from Gerda Steiner, when I saw how cute this little duck was with his surf board, I knew he was a must buy...

I wanted to create a scene for my card, Imagine you're in the ocean looking at the beach...that's the idea I was going for anyway...

I coloured the images with Copics, but the palm tree is from a Lawn Fawn die set - Palm Trees.  I've used distress oxide ink to create my background scene..

So the clouds have been created with the MFT cloud stencil in tumbled glass, the seagulls are from the SSS Surfs up stamp set.

For the sea, I die cut two stencils from the mama elephant Trio of waves die set, I used salty ocean and mermaid lagoon and I went over it with some white textile paint where the waves were crashing.

The beach is antique linen and then I stamped over it with the Altenew snowing stamp and MFT kraft ink.

I cut a small line in my beach so that my surf boards look like they are stuck in the sand and the palm tree is stuck on the sky part of the panel.

The beach panel has been mounted on to fun foam, to create some depth.

The sentiment is from the Catch a Wave stamp set, I'm entering this into the

Rainbow Of Smiles....

Hi all,

So I had an idea in my head when I saw the "Just Us Girls" Challenge - Word Week #495 The word this week is Smile, and I don't know about you but I always Smile when I see a rainbow...

So my card features a rainbow of colours, and the word SMILE
and my bears are misbehaving whilst having their photo taken LOL.. One has lost the balloon and the other is staring at the little dog looking over the photo frame haha... OK, I'll just show you...

So everything on here is MFT apart from the Polaroid frames and the little dog, those are Mama Elephant..The Stamp is called Sticky notes.  The bears are from the MFT set - Birthday Bear, the SMILE die was a free with $60 purchase and the paper is from the Party patterns pad.

I Copic coloured my scene and I cut the smile from a piece of card that I had ink blended with distress oxides. It was a really easy card to make, but I just love it... I'm smiling just typing this haha..

Animal crackers - Punny sentiment

Hi Guys,

I'm popping in tonight with a quick card I made for a Punny Challenge #115 over on Always Fun

I made the card for my Husbands cousins, they have a hobby farm in South Australia, and when we get together it's so much fun, unfortunately they are nearly 10 hours drive from us, so we don't manage to get together as often as we'd like... they are our closest family to us, and the rest of my husbands family all live even further away in South Australia..And his parents and my family are all in the UK  (insert sad face LOL).

Anyway as you can imagine they have lots of animals on their hobby farm and some of them are quite cheeky, so i thought this set Whole Herd from MFT would make an ideal card!

I've also used the mini cloud stencil by MFT and the double strip of grass is also from MFT
This image has been coloured using Copic markers.

Hope you like this card & thanks for popping in!

CAS Cards

Hi all,

So now that I know what a CAS card is, I'm really enjoying doing them LOL...

I think CAS cards are harder to do than "normal" cards... it's the knowing when to stop with the layers and the sequins haha... Don't get me wrong, I really love doing my "normal"cards, but CAS cards I'm finding I really have to think about it ....

Anyways its our youngest son's birthday soon...when I say younger he's 22 LOL.. but I thought this card is quite appropriate for him, as he usually says no cake, I'd rather have the money LOL...

This little cutie, is a Gerda Steiner Digi called Birthday Bear, I've coloured him with Copics from the E family, 51,,53, 55 & 57 A small amount of R20 for his cheeks and I've used the Warm Gray's for a shadow to ground him, starting with W1 then W0 & W00

The cake is Y28 & Y11 and the frosting on the cake is E37 & E39 and its chocolate of course with a nutella fillling LOL...

I added some clear nuvo drops for the frosting and black for his nose and some nuvo glitter drops on the candle.

I used some MFT paper that I had in my stash and the sentiment, I have no idea, it was just in my stash unlabelled in my filing system LOL

Hope you like the card and I'm entering this into

Christmas....

Hi all...

Ok I said the Christmas word and we are only in June! But it feels a lot like Christmas here in Melbourne, it's winter, it's cold today and raining..

On the up side... cold + rain = more craft time, there is still lots we need to do in the garden but it's a wee bit wet at the moment.

Another plus is that I have my first Christmas card made, I don't send that many anymore but most of ours go to the UK.. and they need to be posted at the end of November.

So here is my first non traditional card for the season..

Yes Santa arrives on his surf board here in Australia LOL..

This "Deck the Palms"stamp is by Sweet Stamp Shop, its such a cute stamp I couldn't resist using it for some of my Australian cards...

I stamped the image using a hybrid ink as I was using my Copic markers to colour this.  I used nuvo glitter drops for the lights in the palms trees and  and nuvo clear drops on the glasses. I've also added wink of stella everywhere, well you can never have to much glitter can you LOL  and of course some gold washi tape. The sentiment also comes from this set, and lastly the sand is Hero Arts Sand embossing powder, I am just loving this stuff!

Hope you like this card, I'm going to enter this into the challenge over on

  1. Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes + Optional non traditional
  2. Christmas Kickstart Challenge #13 Glitter, Sparkle and Shine  - EDITED I got top pick - YAY

It's a Man's World....

Hi all,

Well we all know it's not really a man's world but with Father's day being this Sunday in the UK and the US it's time to get that craft on and do some masculine cards! Australia FD it's in September
I have a card sorted for that one but I do have a few male birthdays coming up... so I thought i would enter a couple of challenges and do a card at the same time!

I've taken a break from flowers ...not sure the man in question would appreciate a flower card LOL and I've gone back to a one I've had for years from LOTV (Lili Of The Valley) Now LOTV used to do rubber stamps, clear stamps and these Sketch pads, but now they have moved on to digis.

The image I am using "Take it Easy" is now available as a digi only, and I do urge you to take a look at their site as they have a vast collection of lovely images, and the benefit of a digi is you don't need to wait for snail mail LOL.

Any way this is my card

I've coloured the image using Copics, and I've added some additional details with my Polychromos Pencils.
I used the MFT stencils again, the mini cloud, sunray and the grass, but I also used the larger cloud stencil for my hills in background.

To finish it off, I added some nuvo drops to the beer glass and the dog's nose, and I thought I would cut a strip of grass out of the same paper the card is mounted on, and a strip of clouds for the top!

Hope you like this card and I'm going to enter this one into the following challenges

  1. Addicted To Stamps #175 For a man or Boy
  2. Always Fun Challenge #114 For Dad
  3. Inkspirational Challenge #189 - Garden
