Happy Freezin Season

Hi guys...

Yes it's that time of the year to try to get a head start on making those Christmas cards...And I find it much easier to do these when it's the Winter Season here in Melbourne...we actually had Ice on the car here last week and went down to an over night low of 2 degrees...I know I should be used to the cold coming from the UK but I've grown accustomed to the warm weather now and anything below 20 degrees is cold LOL..

I received my MFT happy mail from Neha at Auzz Trinkets and Craft (the link is on the right if you wish to purchase these) last week and along with the Joyful bears I also ordered a couple of Christmas sets that I had my eye on... This card is made using the "Warm and Feathered Hugs" set.. with 7 Distress Inks blended plus White for the moon.. Distress inks are a little harder to blend than oxides, but they look so different...

I created the panel first by blending the following inks

Starting with Peacock feathers at the bottom and working upwards
broken china
blueprint sketch
wilted violet
chipped sapphire
dusty concord and finishing with
black soot at the top and around the edge.

I then punched a circle in some card and used that for the moon stencil and blended some
picket fence. Splattered some White diluted Copic ink mixed with perfect pearls for my stars.

Next I die cut my snow banks and painted on some Nuvo Fresh snowfall glitter accents.

I worked out the placement of these before I stamped my trees on the panel with MFT Extreme black ink.  I dabbed on some of the white splatter and the nuvo glitter that was left on my palette on to the trees with a very hard paint brush.

All that was left to do was to  stamp my sentiment before I attached the snow banks with one and two layers of foam tape!

I'm going to enter this into a couple of challenges

  1. HLS July Christmas Challenge - + optional sparkle
  2. Addicted to Stamps and More - Challenge #348 - Holiday  EDITED - I got Top Addict YAY
  3. SSS - Monday Challenge - Make your own background
  4. Sweet Stampin - June Challenge - Anything Goes and Optional: Non-Traditional Colours
  5. The Sisterhood of Crafters - Any Occasion - Edited I got top 3 - YAY
  6. Cute N Crafty Christmas challenge 15

Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you love this card...

Shaker Cards

Hi guys...

Who doesn't like a shaker card... are they really meant to be for children...naw, I have too much fun playing with them myself haha..

When I saw the Simon Says Stamp challenge for this week it said stars and strips obviously as the USA are celebrating 4th of July, but my stars and stripes are birthday related..

I'd had so much fun colouring the MFT Joyful bears the other day, that I wondered if  I could combine my bear with some form of stars and stripes..

Well I did and this what I ended up with...

I've coloured the bear with Prismacolor Pencils, and I've used the Blueprints 27 die along with the scalloped stitched edge die and the sentiment is from the "All of us" set. The paper is also by MFT from the sweet celebration pack.

I also added some heart nail gems to look like they are falling out of the shaker too!

Hope you like the card and I'm entering it into the following

  1.  SSS - Stars or and Stripes
  2. Creative Knockouts - Birthday Wishes
  3. Southern Girls Challenge - Stripes - EDITED - I won YAY
  4. Art Impressions - Birthday Cards
  5. WWC228 - Marsha's Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge
  6. The Sisterhood of Crafters - Any Occasion
  7. Stinkin Inkers Challenge - Stars and Stripes

CAS cards

Hi all,

Another one for you today... (yes I have nothing to do...can you tell I love being in my crafty place....teehee)

I'm getting the hang of these CAS cards now... I actually think it's harder than a full on all the bells and whistles one..

But this one I've created for HLS - CAS July - Use negative space..

This one just screams elegance to me... I cut a panel of white cardstock with my MFT blueprints 27 die, into that I die cut SSS Flickering Butterflies die.  Before I glued the panel down, I ink blended an ombre background in Distress oxide inks, candid apple, ripe persimmon, spiced marmalade and dried marigold.

Glued the panel down and I added some gems...out of my stash and the sentiment is from Neat and Tangled - Typed sentiments, I also used their die to cut the skinny flag strip - Skinny Strip Die

Thanks for stopping by and I'm hoping you like my CAS card..

Tropical Pineapples

Hi all,

If you've read my previous post then you will know that I was on a little mission involving stamps..

So while I was looking through my wooden ones, I thought I would look through my photopolymer stamps too... well I think I need to have a de-stash... I have so many un-used "that I just had to have " stamps... anyone else the same?

Just like all the paper I hoard... some of my paper I still have in my filing draws from before I left the UK over 11.5 years ago OMG the struggle,  to either use it as it's too pretty or de-stash it...but I may regret it and NEED it one day LOL

And embellishments well we won't even go there haha...

Anyway, so I created a totally tropical card for the Double D - Tropical challenge

I had already used a Toucan, for last weeks challenge so this week it's a cool dude pineapple rocking some sunglasses LOL, so here's my card.

I've coloured the pineapples with Copics and I've managed to break into another page of that Electric Jungle paper pack from DCWV... (yes I'm on a mission to use some of it a least...)

Yep they look totally cool!

And seen as though there are three pineapples then I'm entering this into the Inkspirational challenge
  1. Inkspirational Challenge #190 - Three or Five
  2. Crafty Gals - Challenge #195 ~ Summer Fun!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my tropical card!

Wood Stamps

Hi all,

I was looking on my DVD shelving at my stamp collection and before photopolymer stamps came a long, most of my stamping collection was wood...

I must admit, I did love wood stamps but with the stamping tools now available I have made the move over to photopolymer stamps and I love them especially in my stamping platform!!

Would I go back to wood...well there are some stamps that I just can't possibly get rid of...like this Penny Black one... "Tender Showers"

That hedgehog is so cute! he's been coloured with Polychromos pencils and die cut using a wonky stitched rectangle die.

I thought I might enter this into the Penny Black challenge, I'm a little late with this one as I seem to have made quite a few cards for challenges lately LOL,

PBSC June - Anything goes

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you like my golden oldie wood stamp!

Lavender Clouds and Cuteness

Hi all,

I've been seeing a lot of pink clouds on social media atm, so I thought I would do some lavender ones LOL..

I received some happy mail this week, and after buying so many Altenew sets for my AECP, I wanted to buy some critter cuteness! And what goes with critter cuteness ....Lavender clouds..well it does on my card anyway haha..

Two MFT sets complete this card, The Scene Builder and Joyful Heart bears, and the sentiment is by Mama Elephant - Birthday Messages.

So I stamped the scene in a hybrid ink, and I water coloured the scene using distress oxides and then I lightly went over it when it was dry with the mini cloud stencil and grass stencil by MFT.
I used the following colours, Dusty concord, Milled lavender, Victoria velvet and Tumbled glass for the sky, and Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough and Bundled Sage for the grass and a tiny hint of  Vintage Photo for the tree trunk.

My little cute bear and butterflies, have been water coloured with Zig markers in, brick beige and medium beige and light beige and the heart and butterflies are peach pink, pink haze and almond pink.  The sequins are "Shes's so Lovely" from Lucy's Little Things. A touch of nuvo shimmer on the heart too.

I'm going to enter this into a few challenges...
  1. Happy Little Stampers - Water colour Challenge - Anything Goes + optional wings
  2. Inkspirational Challenge #190 - Three or Five
  3. WWC228 - Marsha's Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge - Edited I Rocked It - YAY
  4. Ellibelles corner Crafty Wednesday
  5. SSS - Monday Challenge - Make your own Background
  6. The Sisterhood of Crafters - Any Occasion

    Avery Elle - Wild Birthday!

    Hi guys,

Today I would like to share a wild birthday card with you all! And I don't mean "wild" out of control one LOL... This one is a cutie one, with cute animals.  I've made the card for my friends son, it's his birthday in a couple of months, but I like to be prepared LOL and I'm also going to enter a couple of challenges with it too!

So the first layer of paper is from lawn Fawn, the second layer I have ink blended with Distress oxides inks in, Squeezed lemonade, Twisted citron and Cracked pistachio.
The third layer is a die cut, and that's from the MFT set Blueprints 27.
I've coloured the the images with Copics, and added some white glaze drops and some nuvo clear shimmer, although you can't really see it in the photos...

Here's a closer look at those layers...

Still can't catch that shimmer though....

Any way so the challenges I am entering into are :-
    1. Inkspirational Challenge #190 - Three or Five
    2. The Male Room - Challenge #114 - Multiple layers

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked the card!

AAA Birthday DT Post - July Challenge - For the girls

    Hi all,

It's time for a new challenge over on AAA - Birthday - For the girls! And we also have a guest designer with us for this challenge, the very talented Michelle Lupton.  Please head over and take a look at the DT cards and join in with the challenge!

So I decided to take a break from the flowers and get out an image from LOTV (Lili of the Valley)
This image is available as a digi image, and she is called Little Ballerina .

This is my card I made for the challenge

I've coloured the image using Copics and Polychromos Pencils, I've also added some nuvo sparkle to her tutu and ballet pumps. I die cut the image out and I wanted to frame it so I used the MFT Linked Chain Oval Frames Set.

The flowers are what I had in my stash and I believe they are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  A couple of die cuts, sequins and pearls completed the card. And the sentiment that's by Clearly besotted - Sweet Little Sentiments I do love that font!

    Don't you love that sparkle!

I'm also entering this into Creative Knockouts #304 For the girls

Thanks for stopping by, I do hope you like my card and that you'll pop over and have a look and maybe join in this months challenge!

    Hugs
